Can-It Spamfilter

Can-It is a higly configurable spam filter Provided to email customers of Nationwide Internet. All Nationwide subs are using Can-It except inreach.com, WT.net, and Bainbridge.net.

Login Page:
http://protection.nationwide.net
And select the domain you are with.

You will need to use your full email address and password to login.

Example:
username@domain.tld

Main Page

The Main Page is the page you will use the most. Here is were you will find emails that Can-It is holding for your inspection, A quick White/Black list tool, and the Navigation Links. You will also see a "Spam Scanning Level" going from "Lenient" to "Strict". It is suggested that you do not use the "Spam Scanning Level" to adjust your Spam Filter.

To use the White/Black list tool

  • Use the drop down menu to select the desired setting "Always Reject", "Always Accept" etc.
  • Type in either the email address you would like to White/Black list, or domain.
  • When you are finished, click on the Submit Changes button on the bottom left hand corner of the page.

Pending Messages

After expecting your email you can choose to discarded it as spam, or have it sent to your "inbox" to retrieve it as regular email.

You just need to click on the "check mark" button, or the red "X" and click on Submit Changes. Clicking on the "check mark" will send the mail to your "inbox", while clicking on the red "X" will discard the mail as spam.

Stream Settings

For your Stream Settings to work properly, the default stream needs to be set to your email address.

To check your default stream, start at the main page

  • Click on the Preferences link on the top of the main page.
  • Click on Set Default Stream link.
  • Use the drop down box and select your email address if it isn't the default stream. Click on the Redirect to This Stream button.

To change the stream settings

  • Click on the Preferences link on the top of the main page.
  • Click on Stream Settings link.

The default settings should be good, but you can make changes to the "Spam threshold," by lowering the score, Can-It becomes more strict regarding spam. The threshold should be between 1-5, with 1 being the most strict, while 5 is less so.

User Notification

Once Can-It traps a message that it thinks is spam, it can be setup to send you a notification by email. It can send messages once a day, once every hour, or not at all.

To setup notification

  • Click on the Preferences link on the main page.
  • Click on the Notification link.
  • Here all you would need to do is choose what email address you would like the notifications to go to, and place a check mark next to the times you would like the notifications sent.
  • Click on the Submit Changes.
